Virginia Sport Horses (VSH) specializes in selecting and training sport horses. We offer the widest selection of sport horse prospects, at the most reasonable prices, available on the East Coast.
We breed, raise, personally select and professionally train our horses. Our horses are safe, sane, and sound. Our horses range from 1-3 in temperament, have no vices, medical problems or training issues. Our horses and business has been featured in such publications as Practical Horseman, Hunter and Sport Horse and Covertside.
Our Philosophy
Since most of today's equestrians are amateur riders, VSH has tried to take some of the guess work out of selecting your next equine partner. Our horses are bred and selected for good conformation and good minds. They're athletic, easygoing,easily trainable and have a lot of personality.
We are known for our "Signature Crosses". These American Warmblood Eligible crossbreds compare favorably to Sport Horse Quality European Warmbloods and many of our broodmares are Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Dutch Warmblood and Selle Francais.
These are highly trainable, well coupled, healthy, athletic and durable horses well suited to jumping, dressage and eventing. They make excellent choices for todays Fox Hunter who also wants to work at dressage, event, or show on the off season..
VSH also breeds and maintains a wide selection of both traditional Bay with Chrome and Black with Chrome as well as Black and White Tobiano Shire and Clydesdale Sporthorses. Each fall we also import a select group of Hanoverianx Reg Canadian Sport Horses and 3/4 TBx hunter/event/fox hunting prospects.
We ride and hunt our own horses. Over the years we have matched over a thousand riders with their horses. We have worked hard to build our reputation and our horses speak for themselves.

Spring Programs - We have a variety of programs planned for this spring, including: "Foaling around the farm" - join this group to be notified of foalings, assist with birthing, feeding of special needs foals and just receiving the incredible animal therapy that only foals bring in such depth.
Trail Club - Join this group for weekly rides around the area of our farm as well as group trail rides and trail riding destinations like Lake Anna, Anderson Lacy Park etc.
Half-lease or Full-lease - from our seasoned horse pool. From 20yr old former show and sport horses, to trust worthy trail and foxhunters. Half leases start as low as $200/month and include board.

Byrd Park, Monument Ave, War Memorial, State Capitol, Over the Leigh Bridge for views of the Skyline, back over the Manchester Bridge. WELCOME BACK GUNTER!
Welcome back to our Gunter!! Gunter has spent the last few years receiving classical training and competing at 2nd level dressage, Prelim Level Eventing and 3'6" Jumpers with professional trainer and eventer, Elizabeth Stewart. Gunter is a Percheron/Dutchx and stands an impressive 18HH. He has hunted and whipped with Radnor, Cheshire, Bull Run as well as other Virginia Hunts and was a competitive trail mount for a year in NJ.
