Virginia Sport Horses (VSH) specializes in selecting and training sport horses. We offer the widest selection of sport horse prospects, at the most reasonable prices, available on the East Coast.
We breed, raise, personally select and professionally train our horses. We are neither sellers, traders, nor brokers of used horses. We have an A rating with the better business bureau and are happy to provide references from QUALIFIED professional sources as well as hundreds of satisfied customers.
Our horses are safe, sane, and sound. They are the horses of choice for the Virginia and NC Trainers Challenges due to their gentle and accepting nature and are well known to many recognized Equine Professionals, Trainers, Clinicians and Celebrated Veterinarians. Our horses and business has been featured in such publications as Practical Horseman, Hunter and Sport Horse and Covertside.
Our Philosophy
Since most of today's equestrians are amateur riders, VSH has tried to take some of the guess work out of selecting your next equine partner. Our horses are bred and then selected for good conformation and good minds as well as the aptitude needed for their future profession. They're athletic, easygoing and have a lot of personality.
Our philosophy is simple, we strive to bring you a cross section of sane, easily trainable draft crosses at a sensible price. Our prices are quite reasonable, and are based on the quality of the horse and the training each horse has received.
We are known for our "Signature Crosses". These American Warmblood Eligible crossbreds compare favorably to Sport Horse Quality European Warmbloods. They have made VSH the supplier of choice for the last 4 years to the NC and VA East Coast Trainers Challenge. These are highly trainable, well coupled, healthy, athletic and durable horses well suited to jumping, dressage and eventing. They make excellent choices for Fox Hunters.
Currently standing at VSH are 17H Imported, Reg, and Approved Irish Draught Stalliom, Dromards View, Reg Shire Sport Horse Charlie Chimes and Reg. 14.2H Dun Connemara stallion Tullymor's Ned Devine.
VSH also breeds and maintains a wide selection of both traditional Bay with Chrome and Black with Chrome as well as Black and White Tobiano Shire, Irish Sport Horse and Cyldesdale Sporthorses. We also import a select few TB/Percherons as well as other draftcrosses popular with fox hunters.

Intro to riding, Intro to trailriding, intro to Fox Hunting, intro to cross country, Beginner, intermediate Hunt Seat. Dressage to fourth level. Private lessons with trainer Jessie Clise are available for Reining, Natural Horsemanship and Western Riding.
Our lessons are offered in packages of 4 lessons with rates as low at $25/hr for group lessons, $35/hr private.
Congratulations to Taylor Booth. Taylor was CHAMPION of the Intro/Novice Division on Fiona. Both had clear rounds on the stadium jumping as well as the Cross Country Course!!
Fox Hunt with VSH Fox Hunt one of our hunt nannies or experienced first flight hunters. Informal Hunts $100 formal Hunts $150. Wednesday (informal) CFHH, Saturday (formal) CFHH, Sundays LHH (informal). Some Lynnhaven dates:
Try one of our horses in safe, supervised conditions with your hunt or hunt of your choosing. $150 + mileage and cap fees for 2 people.
American Warmblood Inspection Pending sufficient interest and participation, we will host an inspection and offer a prep class as well as a "turnkey" one week package which includes one week of board, grooming, training, and handling at the inspection. Drop your horse off a week in advance and return to watch his/her inspection. All interested parties should email Liz with "AWS inspection" and their phone number in the subject line.
