Bentley

This is a HUGE bay gelding with a perfect blaze and four high whites. He looks like what you would expect Clydesdale/TB cross to be...marked like a Clyde with a more refined head and tall and refined. He is sired by Reg Shire Stallion, Jenson's Englander's Major and out of our Shire/TB mare, Lady Anne. He is a full brother to The Waterboy and he matches him although he will be significantly taller...

He has a great mind....and he is going to be a strapping fella, likely 16.3-17.2H. He is eligible for registration with both the AWS and the ASHA as a Shire Sport Horse. Going to make a great Fox Hunter one day. Our plans are to send him out for 30 days training and to start him as a stallion with a select group of mares this summer, prior to gelding him.

6/12/13 update: I rode Bentley this winter shortly after he returned home from training and have never felt  more at ease riding a horse with just 30 days under saddle. He has been ridden lightly throughout the winter and is now in daily training. As predicted he is coming along amazingly fast. He is a willing and obedient, easy going, absolutely NO DRAMA kind of horse.

Here's a quick little clip I shot off the cuff upon seeing my trainer and rider tooling him back to the barn following a ride.

9/23/12 update: Bentley is doing just great. Quiet enough for almost anyone to ride, he is being brought along gently, working on transitions and bending in the arena. Hacks out alone or in company. He is laid back and quiet hacking out yet refreshingly forward in the arena.

8/5/12 update: Fabulous.... Our trainer and our riders are all singing from the same  sheet on this guy. "He's even BETTER than Waterboy". Waterboy was our most recent example of a gelding who just went from  unbroke to kid broke in record time. Going w,t,c in the arena and hacking out, he is still green, but super quiet and coming along FAST. He will be out there on Opening Hunt... Great example of our "Heavy or Irish type Hunter"..  Nice big gelding!!

6/14/12 update: Coming home on the 22nd.

6/2/12 update: Doing very well in training. Going w,t,c in the arena and hacking out. Cant wait to have him home in the next week or so!!

4/4/12 update: He is finally starting to shed, so I will likely have pics of this handsome guy up some time next week.
