 This is Smoke House Blues. He is an incredibly unflappable gelding that is stretchy and very refined for his height. An uncomplicated horse who can effortlessly sail over 3 foot coops so smoothly that the rider hardly feels the jump. Smoke House has great feet, is well behaved for the farrier, and trailers beautifully. He has schooled cross country to prelim level and has fox hunted first flight and whipped. He is currently being hunted by VSH Owner, Liz Booth. This is a horse who must be seen in person to appreciate his beauty and classic hunter conformation. These pictures dont do him justice...he could have popped right out of an antique foxhunting print. 

We took Smoke House to the cross country course at Kelly's Ford Equestrian Center and he jumped EVERYTHING THERE..flawlessly and without effort. See many pictures on this gallery.

He has a very loose shoulder and is extremely light on his feet, incredibly so for a horse this size. He is so unflappable that our rider Lauren Umlandt whipped off him his first time foxhunting. Since then, he has whipped several times and I have started hunting him myself. I'm 50 years old and can not afford to be hurt. Smoke House is unflappable, smooth, obedient to a fault and has the easiest, smoothest jump imagineable.  We have over 100 horses and our specialty is sane and sensible horses suitable for mature riders to hunt safely and enjoyably. I've spent over a decade searching, selecting, breeding, raising and training horses for this purpose. I've seen and sold thousands. Of those horses, Fiona and Smoke House are the two that are the most valuable to me.

1/23/10 I've been hunting Smoke House at least once a week for most of the 2009/10 season, he has whipped twice before and I whipped with him on Saturday. He's unflappable and jumps anything..easily..never a rough landing. He makes it easy and fun!
