Raleigh is a 2004, black with minimal white, Spotted Draft gelding. A sibling to Lakota, this young horse has an exemplary temperament. He is standing about 17H and has a tad draftier build than Lakota.
Raleigh has just returned from the trainer with 30 days training under saddle and happily went w,t,c in the arena. He also drives like a champ. He's a driving teammate with Flint and was once a driving teammate to Lakota.
9/14/07 Update. Unflappable is the word for this big boy... We took him out to Lake Anna today with Titan and Tannin. He was perfect! He was comfortable in all positions, (leading, following etc), he crossed wooden bridges, creeks, passed deer, played in the lake with power boats and jet skis passing by. A++ Super Safe Trail and Field Horse...

3/14/08 Update: Raleigh will begin his Law Enforcement career next week with the Richmond Mounted Police thanks to a joint donation from the Friends of the Mounted Police and Virginia Sport Horses. The Friends of the Mounted Police and Virginia Sporthorses will be working together to raise money for a much needed second horse. Anyone interested in making a tax deductible donation should contact Virginia Sport Horses for more details.
