Blues Traveler is a gentle, uncomplicated 3/4 QH 1/4 Percheronx gelding professionally raised and brought along. Does everything that he should and nothing that he should not. Easy to catch, stands quietly in cross ties for tacking, and mounting, from block, ground or trailer. Good for the farrier. Clips with the loudest, largest shears with no sedation. Loads and is SELF LOADING in a trailer. Hacks equally well with others and alone. Does not care about traffic or hounds. Crosses and traverses creeks and mud. Will pop over a log or cross rail with the same expression as trotting the rail. Well socialized in small or large mixed groups, neither high nor low on pecking order. Not in the least bit studdy, the same day in day out regardless of temperature, wind levels or not being ridden and being stalled. PERFECT HORSE for a mature rider who wants an all rounder to bring along for foxhunting and take to local hunter shows, hunter paces. low level events. SMOOTH as silk, minimal motion trot and canter. Travels straight. Standing 15.3H string tests to 16.1-2H. Imported from Canada, microchipped. Eligible for AWS and PHR registration.
Note: This is a very slow and boring video, meant to show exactly what it would be like to ownthis horse and go get him for a solo ride on a COLD and WINDY winters day, watch to the end for w,t,c footage.
1/21/16 update: Filmed this video on a frigidly COLD winters day. It shows BT being pulled from pasture, tacked, clipped, picking up feet, mounting from block and trailer, hacking alone, hacking with others, visiting the kennel, and w,t,c in the arena.
9/22/15 update: already a favorite of every trainer who has ridden him. VERY smooth gaits, easy peasy guy. One trainer remarked that he would make a great lesson horse due to his workmanlike attitude. Has hunter movement and would make a show hunter or foxhunter.
9/14/15 update: Now started under saddle and VERY quiet!
11/8/14 update: Here in Virginia, gelded, vaccinated, wormed and ready to go. No wolf teeth appartent at gelding, microchip#: 985170002503984. SUPER, SUPER, SUPER temperament on this gelding! Ecstatic about his movement. He will make a super hunter prospect. He points his toes, sweeps the ground, and wants to stretch and go long and low on his own. Loved our Rat Terrier Joey and it required no effort what so ever to get a video of this fellow. Joey would lope up to him and bark, rollback and run and Blue would follow him, over and over... The thought occured to me, is this gelding so easy that he can be trained by a rat terrier? Lovely fellow.
10/29/14 update: Traveler is documented and ready for export. Scheduled to leave Western Canada on Monday morning. We will get new pics and updated size/mature size estimates when he arrives.
