Incredibly talented natural jumper with excellent freedom through the shoulder/extension, articulation through the hocks and powerful hind end. 10 mover, scopey jumper. Quest is 1/4 Hanoverian 1/2 TB and 1/4 Percheron. He was imported to Virginia from Manitoba as a weanling.
8/26/16 update: Quest was started under saddle on 4/6/16 at the Virginia Horse Festival Colt Starting Challenge. In a 4 hour period he went from being halter broke to performing the following tasks before a live audience: picking up all 4 feet, going w,t,c and holding leads in both directions in a public arena with spectators, standing quietly while a lasso was swung overhead, rider roped a barrel and dragged a pole behind while walking forward and in front while backing, walked a pole "maze" while not stepping outside the poles. crossed "water" (two poles with a blue tarp), trotted a serpentine through poles as well as other things I am leaving out. Since then he has continued gentle occasional rides suitable to the measured development of a 2 1/2 yr old. He can at this age, be pulled from pasture after being out for a period of weeks and be ridden by our (very good) most junior riders. Never a buck or bad step from this fellow. Another quality gelding suitable for dressage or eventing with a platinum mind and a heart of gold.
