Breed: Shire Cross
Expected Mature Height: 16
Training Level: Going quietly under saddle, w,t,c, trail rides alone or in group
3/6/17 update: This filly has inherited a STELLAR temperament from her Sire and Dam. I couldn't have found a stallion and mare with better temperaments to put together and produce such a winning combination of agreable and unflappable demeanor. I challenge anyone to find a gelding with a superior temperament to Tiara. She was sired by Aldershire Sampson, a 17.3H Shire aptly nicknamed "Fluffy" and out of a saint of a clyde cross mare named Fancy. Tiara was born and bred and raised here on the farm and has now taken her place as a member of the "A Team", a string of young mares and geldings of exemplary temperament and uncomplicated and unflappable nature such that they can be enjoyably ridden by most people. To give an example of Tiara's nature and trainability, I offer the following: on her third ride she was loaded onto the trailer with 6 other horses on a friday evening and taken to a bustling shopping center where she was ridden alongside 4 lanes of traffic, shopping carts etc etc. She has gone on to acquire all of the skills that a trail horse should have in addition to riding w,t,c in the arena. Yes she is young, but she was born with the right stuff.
12/24/16 update: As predicted, and in keeping with every other Aldershire Sampson offspring and as can be expected as the daughter of her dam, Fancy, Tiara was an absolute joy and source of immense pride to witness being started under saddle this week. This filly on week ONE is already one of the quietest horses here and better behaved than the majority of adult riding horses out there. Big claim...call my bluff... come out and try her! She has a fabulous mind and an unfalteringly kind disposition.
Born 6/29/14, by Aldershire Sampson (17.3H Shire) out of Fancy, a gorgeous draftx mare, Tiara is friendly, feminine and moves beautifully. Seems to have been born 3 weeks old.
6/30/15 update: Despite the yearling uglies...you can start to see a glimpse of what she will be.
1/3/15 update: Wow has this filly caught up with her pasture mates in size! A big easygoing friendly filly, easy to handle with a super temperament! True to her sire and dam! Treasured here on the farm as she is the last offspring from our beloved stallion Aldershire Sampson!
