Captive Melody is sired by our former 17H Reg Shire Stallion, Jensons Englander's Major and out of our Shire/TB mare, Lady Anne, making her 3/4 Shire, 1/4 TB.

12/13/16 update: Confirmed 3 -3 1/2 months in foal to Charlie Chimes, 17H Shire Sport Horse Stallion

9/2/2016 update: Melody had a gorgeous foal this spring (see Maestro) and now has just returned from a two week refresher with Trainer Jessie Clise.  Melody is fully prepped and ready to hunt.  She doesn't give a rat about hounds, vehicles etc. She has a beautiful jump and is honest to the fences. She is also a very powerfully BUILT mare who does well in the arena for anyone interested in dressage. She would best suit someone who likes the feel of a powerful horse. She has a nice soft mouth and a powerful quarters.  She will ride happily in contact or a loose rein and is nicely forward so not the horse for an absolute beginner but is forgiving and pretty balanced on her own. She would be the perfect choice for someone who wants to event, fox hunt and hunter pace at beginner novice and novice or an advanced beginner to take dressage lessons and compete to 2nd level. She frames beautifully moves off leg and canters 20 meter circles.

9/14/15 update: Captive Melody is now in foal for 2016 to our 16.2H TB, Thirsty Giant

7/8/2014 update: WOW - have I been lax in updating this mare's page! This is a mare with a beautiful mind. She is solid and sturdy (prevetted CLEAN last week). She has been prepped for foxhunting and started schooling dressage. She accepting dressage training faster than any in her class which started out as 10 horses and then down to the final 4. She now frames beautifully and will move off leg, trots and canters 20 meter cirlce.

Here are some links to her schooling on our facebook page.

Here are links to her prepping for fox hunting, trail riding and schooling on the farm throughout the year.

9/24/13 update: Back from 30 days training this weekend. Going w,t,c in the arena and hacking out alone or in company, Crossing creeks, good with traffic, trailers beautifully. Jumping logs and coops with ease. (She is too young to start jumping in earnest, but displays willingness and aptitude. This is an even keeled, people pleasing mare.

Here she is with 6'5" trainer jumping a log spread.
